People ask me this question all the time but unfortunately, I don’t have the answer. The best I can hope to do is to tell you how it works in practice.
There is no such thing as ‘the best franchise’. If it would exist, everyone would invest in it, the market would become oversaturated and it wouldn’t stay the best franchise for very long. The human factor comes into play as well.
People often say that they don’t really care what business sector they invest in as long as they are assured of good returns. In reality, it doesn’t work in this way. Research has shown that money as a motivational factor soon loses its allure. Running any small business is extremely hard work and a franchise is no exception.
Unless you have passion for the business, work will soon become a drag and motivation will go out the window. The first ones to pick up on this will be your staff. They, too, will become less than enthusiastic about coming to work and ‘service with a smile’ will no longer be in their vocabulary. As a result, customers will become reluctant to do business with you, with devastating effect on business performance.
Find something you love, investigate it thoroughly, then put your heart into it and success will be yours!
